Black House. The fabric is the point.
Designed by The Vawdrey House, Black House replaces a bungalow beside the Thames with a new home built to passive-house principles. Screw-piled foundations carry a steel frame with timber infill, mineral-wool insulation and a continuous taped airtight layer.
Thermal breaks at the structure, seals around the windows and coordination of the services are part of the construction, before the finishes cover them. The house brings together a heat pump, heat recovery ventilation and solar panels integrated into the slate roof.
The build is in progress. Its monthly record shows the work as it happens, including our construction model and junction drawings.

A new house brings the groundworks, structure, envelope, services and interiors into one programme. We review buildability and sequence with the appointed professional team, then carry the construction through to joinery and finish.
At Black House, our team models the steel, timber and thermal junctions in-house alongside the architect's design. The working drawings let us review how the parts connect before the work reaches site. Read how we work with architects.

Hampshire House combines exposed structural timber, vaulted living spaces and full-height sliding glass. Omniform was lead designer and project managed the works.
At Hill Close, we designed and built a 650 square metre home with three wings of brick, timber and glass arranged around a courtyard. Our current construction work follows your appointed architect's design.
