Greenwich House
A layered and expressive refurbishment in South-East London, this award-winning home blends architectural clarity with rich, textural interiors, designed to restore, entertain, and inspire.
Winner of the BIID Award for Best Interior Design 2022, this whole-home transformation, delivered in collaboration with The Vawdrey House, saw the complete reworking of a Victorian semi, reorienting the plan to create connected, light-filled living spaces across all floors.
A bold structural intervention on the ground floor opened up the rear of the house, unifying kitchen, dining and living areas across two floors into a single, expansive volume. Polished concrete flooring, full-height joinery, and a dramatic Cipollino Ondulato marble island define the space, while touches of brass and bespoke cabinetry bring character and contrast.
The rear addition was rebuilt in London stock brick with deep-set glazing and flush-pointed detail, forming a sculptural winter garden that drops to a sunken seating area via a salvaged cast-iron staircase. At its heart: a lush, terracotta-floored garden room and concealed potting space, bridging indoors and out.
Throughout the home, materials were chosen for their depth and tactility, including reclaimed timbers, pink-lacquered ceilings, oak staircases, and marble-lined bathrooms. Meanwhile, light is drawn down through a central rooflight and a soaring, fully glazed dormer with panoramic views across the city.
